Future Church Plants
When our Casper location was first started in 2014 we knew that we wanted to see many churches planted in Wyoming. This is why the Forever West Network was started. As part of our strategy of multiplication we have targeted several locations in Wyoming to plant new churches
Medicine Bow is one of the 60 communities in Wyoming with little or no Gospel presence and it happens to be the nearest of those communities to our original WindCity location in Casper. Our church has adopted this community as a place of future church planting ministry and have inherited a building to help get it done. Medicine Bow is a small community of less than 300 souls but we are excited to see a thriving faith community that can impact the community with the love of God.
One of our next targets is Bar Nunn which is a community that is just to the North of Casper. Bar Nunn shares the lostness demographics of the rest of Wyoming and is home to over 3,000 souls with only one small church in the town. We believe that a strong church planted in Bar Nunn will lead to many more souls in heaven as well as many new ministries that will be a blessing to that community. Bar Nunn is growing fast with many new homes being built and many young families moving into the area. In many respects, it currently serves as a bedroom community for Casper but as more businesses move in it will continue to gain its own identity. We want a strong church to be a big part of that identity!
Our first steps for a work in Bar Nunn have been placing a mobile home in the community (that we were given in 2018). Our current church planting apprentice’s will be living in that home through-out 2019 and you can read more about them here ‘link to their apprenticeship page and/or www.reachwyoming.org).
One of our next targets is Cheyenne which is our state capitol and the home to the F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Cheyenne shares the lostness demographics of the rest of Wyoming and is home to over 90,000 souls which makes it our largest metropolitan area (just larger than Casper). We believe that a strong church planted in Cheyenne will lead to many more souls in heaven as well as many new ministries and church plants in the Southeast Region of the state.
We are already working with a few families that will be a part of our launch team and are praying for more! We also led a family to the Lord at our Casper campus that recently moved to Cheyenne that will be a part of our pre-launch team. We are actively developing a launch team for this new work and if you are interested please send us a message.
